⛏️ Slate

Slate is a medium- to coarse-grained metamorphic rock with medium to high crystallinity and a well-developed schistosity, from which it derives its name.
The dominant minerals include muscovite, talc, chlorite, biotite, and others.
The name is determined by the leading mineral that dominates: mica schists (if mica prevails), chlorite schists, talc schists, etc.
Quartz, as a common component, can sometimes dominate as well (quartz-mica schists, quartz-chlorite schists, etc.).
